Day 1 — Too bad with time for the park

Book the earliest possible entry to Palácio da Pena and arrive at the park 30 minutes early. After the interior, don't leave immediately: explore the Vale dos Lagos, gardens or the path to the Chalet da Condessa d’Edla, included in park tickets. Count on 4 to 5 hours in total.

Day 2 — National Palace and Quinta da Regaleira

Start at Sintra National Palace at 09:30 and allow 90 minutes. Have lunch in the village. Enter Regaleira in the early afternoon and dedicate 3 hours to the gardens and open interiors.

Day 3 — Monserrate

09:30 — Monserrate Park and Palace

Use bus 1253 from Sintra station or 435 from Lourel car park, confirming the service on the same day. Allow at least 3 hours for the park and palace.

Current conditioning

Until the first quarter of 2027, work is planned on the roofs ofthe palace, with scaffolding and temporary roof. The park continues to justify a visit to the gardens, Vale dos Fetos, Jardim do México and the lawn.

Alternative for walkers

On one of the first days, replace transport with the route from Vila Sassetti to the Pena area: around 1.85 km and 45 minutes according to official information. It's always uphill and depends on the weather conditions.

Essential rule

Sintra doesn't work well with tight schedules. Leave at least 45 minutes of space between a monument and the next transport.
