Identity of the place

Coastal group of cliffs, arches and farlhãos near Lagos, observed from land or from authorized sea exits.

On the ground

Ponta da Piedade belongs to an active natural system, subject to erosion, tides, wind, nesting and capacity limits. The visit must preserve habitats and follow authorized access points, because seemingly small changes can have an impact on a protected area and on the visitor's own safety.

The upper walkways offer a different view of the seafront promenades. Ladders and vessels depend on their own conditions; never go down shortcuts or approach unprotected edges.

How to integrate into the route

Integrate Ponta da Piedade into the route only with confirmed transport, tides and visiting rules. A protected area should not serve as a tight connection between two stops: reserve space for boarding, walking, interpretation and possible cancellation.

Information to be confirmed

Before visiting Ponta da Piedade, consult the responsible entity to confirm opening or bathing classification, access, tickets when applicable, transport and temporary alerts. These elements vary and should not be confused with the permanent historical, geographic or heritage facts presented in the form.
