Framing

Odeceixe Beach is formed at the mouth of the Seixe river, close to the border between Alentejo and Algarve. The sand offers a sea front and a river bank whose configuration changes with tides and flows.

What to watch out for

Observe the beach from the village's viewpoint and go down to the sand to see the contrast between the ocean, the meander of the river, cliffs and fields.

Prepare the visit

See surveillance, tides and water quality. Do not cross current channels and only use marked access points, protecting dunes and cliffs.

Fit it into the journey

The beach can be integrated into a passage through the town of Odeceixe or the Rota Vicentina, avoiding repeated journeys on the steep road between the center and the coast.
