Almeirim is a carefully selected base on Portugal’s wine routes, bringing together stone soup, Tagus floodplain agriculture and local vineyards. The locality is presented as a real place rather than a checklist: heritage sites, vineyards and wineries may lie in different parts of the municipality or landscape. Walk the historic core first, then visit no more than one or two producers by prior appointment.
