Criação Velha: Heritage, landscape and wine culture

Criação Velha is a carefully selected base on Portugal’s wine routes, bringing together UNESCO-listed black-stone vineyard plots, old paths and views of Pico mountain. The locality is presented as a real place rather than a checklist: heritage sites, vineyards and wineries may lie in different parts of the municipality or landscape. Walk the historic core first, then visit no more than one or two producers by prior appointment. Confirm current access, opening times, language and price directly with museums and wineries, and arrange a taxi, driver or designated driver whenever tasting is involved.
