Framing
The park connects the Serra de Sintra to the coast between cliffs, dunes and Atlantic capes. Forest, historic farms, Cabo da Roca and Guincho coexist in a highly visited and environmentally sensitive territory.
What to watch out for
Separate the monumental visit of Sintra from the natural view of the mountains and coast, choosing viewpoints and official trails instead of improvised stops.
Prepare the visit
Traffic, parking, wind and risk of fire affect the visit. Use public transport when possible and respect forest closures and cliff limits.
Fit it into the journey
Sintra, Cabo da Roca, Guincho and Cascais create a tempting circuit, but the traffic makes it preferable to divide the mountains and coast or use public transport.
