Understand the place
The schist houses, covered in slabs and punctuated by colorful doors and windows, are arranged in an amphitheater in Serra do Açor.
What to watch out for
Walk through the alleys starting from the square of the main church and observe how terraces, water and a steep slope influenced the construction. Nighttime lighting is known, but a daytime visit allows you to better understand materials, water lines and the relationship with the mountain.
