Cross it as part of the riverside walk and compare both urban fronts. It remains a public thoroughfare: do not block passage and take care on wet paving. The severe flood of 1989 damaged the bridge and led to rebuilding that consolidated its pedestrian use, now essential to the continuity of the historic centre across both banks.
