Framing
The Vale do Tua Regional Natural Park follows the valleys of the Tua and Tinhela rivers, plateaus and mountains between Trás-os-Montes and the Douro. The old railway line and agricultural landscape add a cultural dimension to the natural reading.
What to watch out for
Use viewpoints, interpretive centers and locations as entry points and identify the relationship between river, railway, vineyards, olive groves and relief.
Prepare the visit
Do not walk on railway infrastructure or technical access. Confirm routes, transport and temperatures, especially in low-lying areas during the summer.
Fit it into the journey
Alijó, Murça, Mirandela and Carrazeda de Ansiães offer different approaches to the valley; Interpretive centers and viewpoints help you choose a coherent route.
