A rewarding road-route stop for a heritage village at the meeting point of the EN222 and EN332.

Almendra

Almendra is a village in the municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Côa, close to the eastern limit of the route. The houses, the main church, the manor houses and the pillory justify a careful walk through the old town. Nearby, the EN222 ends at the junction with the EN332; the final landmark must be sought with caution and without stopping in unsafe areas of the road. From Vila Nova de Gaia to Almendra, a long road whose most celebrated section follows vineyards and the river in the Douro.
