A rewarding road-route stop for the tiled railway station, wine estates and the Douro confluence.

Pinhão

Pinhão is a village in the municipality of Alijó located at the confluence of the Pinhão river with the Douro. The station, covered in tile panels linked to the wine cycle, the bridge, the pier and the nearby farms structure the visit. It is the eastern end of the famous Régua–Pinhão section of the EN222, not the end of the road. From Vila Nova de Gaia to Almendra, a long road whose most celebrated section follows vineyards and the river in the Douro.
